Winter Care in Canada — warm coats, boots, bedding and shelter support through the Canadian winter
Why Winter Care

For too many Canadians, winter is the most dangerous season of the year.

Behind Canada's postcard winters is a harder reality. For someone sleeping outside, a single night can be fatal. Low-income families end up choosing between the heating bill and groceries. And every year, newcomers meet their first Canadian winter with nothing warmer than summer clothes.

Seniors on their own and families in remote and northern communities feel it the most, where the cold runs deepest and help is hardest to reach.

Winter Care exists to close that gap. We work through local shelters, schools and settlement agencies people already trust, so warmth shows up before the deep freeze and reaches people with their dignity intact.

The cold hits hardest the people who have the least. A warm coat can be the line between a rough night and real harm.
