In the places we work, the nearest clinic can be hours of rough road away. Sometimes there isn't one at all. War, displacement and poverty have left millions with no doctor to see, no medicine they can afford, and nowhere safe to give birth. An illness you'd shrug off in Canada can kill a child where no one is there to treat it.
We work alongside local doctors, nurses and midwives. Together we keep clinics stocked and open, send mobile health camps out to remote villages and displacement camps, and pay for the surgeries and maternal care that families could never cover on their own.
Care close to home is care that arrives in time. An infection treated. A baby born safely. A child immunised. None of it makes the news, but for that one family it changes everything.

Who actually provides the medical care?
The care comes from qualified local doctors, nurses and midwives who know the community and speak the language. Going through trusted local teams makes treatment faster, more appropriate, and easier to keep going.
What happens if a case is too serious for a clinic?
Camps and clinics handle most of what comes through the door. When a case is more complex, our teams refer the patient on and, where the funding allows, help cover transport and treatment at a partner hospital.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. CBB Canada is a registered Canadian charity and issues official tax receipts for eligible donations made in Canada.
Can I give in memory of a loved one?
