Step 1 of 3: About you

Why volunteer

You give your time. You get so much more.

Our volunteers tend to leave a shift feeling better than when they walked in. You become part of something bigger, turning a bit of compassion into real change, and you pick up skills and friendships along the way.

Real, visible impact

Your hours become packed parcels and settled families. You'll see what your time adds up to, both close to home and overseas.

A community that lasts

You'll meet warm, like-minded people. Plenty of those connections last far longer than a single shift or season.

Grow your skills

Pick up real experience, references and confidence, whether you're testing out a new field or giving back to one you already love.

Recognition & references

We notice the people who show up. We log your hours and we're happy to write you a reference or letter whenever you need one.

Questions

Volunteer FAQ

Do I need any experience to volunteer?+

No. Most roles, like food bank shifts, event help and ambassador work, only ask for your time and a bit of willingness. For skills-based and youth roles we'll match you to something that suits your background, and our team has your back the whole way.

How much time do I need to commit?+

As much or as little as you've got. Some people help at one event and leave it there. Others take a weekly shift or stick with a mentoring relationship over months. Tell us your availability in the form below and we'll suggest roles that fit.

Can I volunteer remotely or from outside my city?+

Yes. A lot of skills-based and ambassador work, like design, translation, social media and admin, can be done from anywhere in Canada. For in-person roles, we'll point you to opportunities near you wherever we can.

Humanity Knows No Borders
