Writing a résumé. Feeling steady enough to speak up at the school gate. Without them, capable and hard-working people stay stuck on the edges of things.
Our free classes start wherever a learner happens to be. Beginners cover the digital basics, like email, online banking, government portals and staying safe online, while the ESL and FSL groups build the everyday English and French that turn isolation into taking part. Then the job-readiness workshops put it all to work in interviews, applications and first paycheques.
Seniors belong here too. Plenty of older newcomers and long-time residents arrive nervous about technology and leave video-calling their grandchildren, booking their own appointments and reading the news in a language they can finally keep up with.
