When the closest water is dirty water, everything gets harder. It makes children sick from the very thing meant to keep them alive, and sends mothers and girls walking hours a day to fetch it — instead of working, healing, or sitting in class. A safe source close to home changes all of that, often within days.
So we don't treat water as an extra. You can't keep a child well or a family on its feet without it — it's what the rest of life is built on.
That's why clean water is a permanent part of CBB Canada's work, not a one-off appeal. A well we put in this year keeps serving a whole community for years — built with local teams, documented, and maintained for the long haul.

Hydro-geological surveys and community consultation identify the right solution and site.

Local engineers construct wells, pumps or filtration systems to lasting standards.

Purify
Water is tested and treated so every drop is safe to drink from day one.

Sustain
A trained local committee maintains each point, with our long-term support.

Common Questions
Questions we hear a lot.
How long does it take to build a well?
Most hand-pump wells are completed within a few weeks of funding; deeper mechanised or solar wells can take a few months depending on geology and access. We'll keep you updated on progress.
Will I know where my well is?
Yes. For sponsored wells, we provide a completion report with the location, photos and details of the community served, wherever it is safe to do so.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes — CBB Canada is a registered Canadian charity and issues official tax receipts for eligible donations.
Can I give in memory of someone?
Absolutely. A water source is a beautiful, lasting Sadaqah Jariyah. Just add a dedication during checkout and we'll include it in your report.
